At the 12 hour mark I had surpassed the previous 250 mile record by about 8 miles, but I was definitely getting tired and my stomach was starting to reject anything I put into it. My stomach seems to be my weakest link as a cyclist. I have used, with varying degrees of success Hammer products, Infinit products and Tailwind as well as just plain old food and water. At a certain point, it seems my stomach just stops digesting and no matter what I put into it, it sits there like a brick. This doesn’t seem to happen on training rides under about 8 hours or on rides where I stop and get off the bike to eat. I’m open to suggestions if anyone has any.
When the final measurements were taken I had completed the 200 miles in 9 Hours 17 Minutes 3 Seconds, but I still had over 14 hours to ride to reach the 24 hour mark.
