    Electric Quest

It's a freewheeling hub. There's a slight resistance but negligible.

    Electric Quest

I know this thread is a wee bit dated, but I'd like to share my completed project, a Quest 2 with an Ebikeling (Bafang) 36v/350w rear hub motor. I added an Efneo GTRO "gearbox" to expand my gear range. At 27 speeds I'm finding that I likely overbuilt the battery (20Ah) and could have done with a...

    Electric Quest

Thanks for the input. I think I need to clarify a bit; I'm concerned that a front hub and wheel, built for 100mm spacing, won't have a long enough axle to reach both (135mm) dropouts. With my current wheel I was able to change the axle for one long enough to reach. I then did as you did, and...

    Electric Quest

Greetings all. I've been following this with interest, and about ready to electrify my Quest 2. On another note, however, might anyone here know of a vendor who offers a 250/350 front hub, but for 135 mm spacing. When I return to Thailand I'd like to take along a built wheel for the back of my...

    Updated Conversion - CruzinSpeed 2.0

It's a NuVinci and Patterson Transmission Crankset (aka Patterson-Metropolis). 2 speed, 32t/50t. I've been using both for 4 years and have zero issues. I'm not a fast rider, and I wouldn't call it a fast bike, but I built it for touring here in SE Asia. It folds/unfolds in minutes and fits...

    Updated Conversion - CruzinSpeed 2.0

I have the seat pretty much as far back as it can go without hitting the frame-folding hinge. However, I can and do recline the seat further when on a longer ride, and can indeed raise the bottom bracket.

    Updated Conversion - CruzinSpeed 2.0

I tried ordering the fork from their website and had no end of problems completing the transaction. It turned out that the the payment component wasn't connected to anything. I eventually learned of a Raptobike dealer in the UK who put me in touch with Arnold, who allowed a Paypal payment. The...

No scraping. I can feel it but haven't had any issues. I've considered a dynamo but as yet haven't the need.

    Updated Conversion - CruzinSpeed 2.0

After finally procuring a 135 mm fork from Raptobike I was able to have a front-facing fork, be rid of the fork adapters and mount a disc brake. As a folder the most difficult issue was always the "unfold" at my destination as I struggled to get the front wheel properly seated and the rim...

    Quest 2

The rims are 26" (same as original). The tires are Serfas Drifters (26 x 1.5). The disc brakes are SRAM BB7

    Conversion Kit question

Thanks Doug. I was able to replace the bolts with a longer bolt with the correct pitch (M6 1.00 pitch). I ordered both stainless and black aluminum (which looks great). I'll post updated photos of my conversion when it's back together in October.

    Quest 2

Greetings. Three years ago I purchased a Quest 2 frame on eBay. It had, inexplicably, been stripped of all components. As I work abroad, I've been only been able to work on the bike a couple of weeks a year when at my home. I fitted the Quest with a NuVinci 360 hub and an Efneo GRTO 3 speed...

    Conversion Kit question

@trapdoor2, you're a genius. Thanks for much for this. I've posted a photo of the new fork and adapter. I still have some grinding, filing and final powder coat to finish up.

    Conversion Kit question

Thanks @trapdoor2. I ask because the bike is quite far away (Thailand) at the moment while I'm in Malaysia. I found and installed a 135mm front fork and did away with the adapters. When the Thai machinist fitted the chainstay to the tabs I had brazed on, he used a different hex bolt and...
