Dear Jond, I just came across this article on Quake Proofing OLD brick buildings, and immediately thought of you and the Newcastle, NSW earthquake of 1989!
It would be very effective on multistoried brick buildings, sprayed on the outside only, and internal brick walls!
It it very similar to Mine tunnel shotcrete with Poly Fibre reinforcement, to stop cave ins when there are movements in the ground due to the mining!
