Fitting for Clamp-on FD

Thought this might be an interesting thought. Instead of the braze-on FD which kind of limits what can be used, there might be an easy option that would possibly open up more options, though I haven't investigated what is available as it is kind of confusing but maybe somebody in the know knows.

Instead of the braze-on being used, fabricate a bushing that would slide over the stem, lets say 1-1.5" long with a hole in the center that is the same stem size, the o.d. of the bushing being either the 1 1/8" or whatever is most used, with a split lengthwise so that when the clamp on FD is clamped in place it pinches the bushing onto the stem.

This could be moved up or down the stem as needed for larger or smaller chainrings. If the stem is not in relation to the downtube as would be a DF bike when using the clamp on FD the center hole could be offset to account for this. Also top pull might be available to use.

Pretty simple and prob cost a few bucks to make out of delrin.
