"Brief report: in Maria's

"Brief report: in Maria's second 24 hour event, she racked up more miles than any other woman on any bike during a day marred by 50 riders suffering heat illness. Saturday night and Sunday morning storms brought strong winds and rain. Jim won the recumbent division and was in the top ten overall in this his first 24-hour event. Together they set the record for most ever husband-wife combined mile age in this 30-year event that had 350 entrants this year. Maria rode 403+miles, Jim rode 397+miles. A strong showing by Team Cruzbike at this popular, hilly event." - from Facebook

I thought Maria would have won the recumbent division if she rode more miles than Jim? !!!

I'm pretty sure he means he won the mens recumbent division (and for that Maria does not qualify. :) ).

Amazing!

Congratulations!

The average speed that the Parkers achieved during this 24 hour event is
a little faster than mine (for a 90 minute ride)!

Well done!

Currently there seem to be 5 Solo Recumbent riders, myself included. See the link below, click sort ascending for the Machine Class column to get the Solo Recumbents at the top of the list.

Good luck Eric,
looks like you may have a month and a half to get your training in on your new Vendetta.

29th Annual Human Powered Vehicle Rally, Clarkston, MI

Thanks Rod,

I've also emailed with Mike Mowett and will try participating in the 29th Annual Human Powered Vehicle Rally, May 18,19 at the Waterford Hills Sports Car Race Track in Clarkston, MI.

See http://mhpva.blogspot.com/2013/04/29th-michigan-hpv-rally-may-18-19-2013.html

I'm thinking I'll try the one hour time trial, hill climb / coast down on Saturday and the 200 foot sprint, and one of the road races depending on what constitutes faster vs slower vehicles.

I might drive down to Springfield, OH and do the 6 hour challenge, or perhaps the 50 mile TT for Calvin's Challenge on the day of the race. I checked for hotels at the end of March but they were all booked and my V was still a question mark so I didn't want to commit to it.
