New shoes for new endeavors

In thought; expanding the paradigm of traversity
Well, the fitter one gets, the more distance travelled in the less time. I noticed when stacking up some 50 mile fast rides lately that the balls of the feet were ending up sore. After reviewing and observing some well known long distance riders it became apparent to go for a nice stiff carbon sole shoes and a cleat system that can spread out the load. JensonUSA Are selling a pair of Shimano sh-r260 for 53% discount, you can also buy the Look keo 2 max pedal and cleat set to go with them.

For me going from spd's to the new setup; it will feel like a quantum leap. The best thing about cleats is that once you clip in, you utilize the other 50% of efficiency thru the other leg muscle sets and it's more efficient to have solid non bendy carbon soles on the shoes . Most carbon shoes go between $300 to $500 a pair so go to JensonUSA.com if you want to make use of this 53% offer.

If your feet are narrow to normal width. Then see dmtcycling.com same quality as high end sidi for about $230. Last years Hydra model which is their long distance shoe can be had for about $70 US because they completely revamped the line this year. The mid sizes can always be found a year later.

This years Road distance show is the +DMT:R2, and the equivalent mountain shoe is the +DMT:M2; meanwhile the R3,R4,R5 and M3, M4, R5 are respectable for people riding more average distance stuff and they range down to $140 but feel like $400 shoes.

I road the Hydra's last year, and have another fresh pair in a box; they are a great 6+ hour shoe. I plan on going around of with the M2 this year to see if they are stiff enough with frogs for good power transfer. I want to compare them to the venerable Sidi Dominators.

One of the best sources for a good price on this seasons shoes is ciclimattio.com avoid the import fees from in country resellers best to source from Italy for the best shoe prices. If you can find a better price on new Sidi or DMT someplace else let us know that would be great info.

Make sure you do you size calcs for the shoes Sidi's size chart and measuring it really accurate. DMT runs about ½ size smaller. Neither shoe stretches so too small will be too small forever.
