With daylight becoming shorter here in North America, I decided to give night riding a try for the first time on a regular basis. Despite having lights on our other recumbents, I never felt comfortable riding a night. I decided to go with the MiNewt.400 Dual lights, http://www.niterider.com/prod_minewt400dual.shtml and three viewpoint FLASHPOINT ULTRAs http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1075344_-1_56000_20000_56004. I may have over achieved on the rear lights since the FLASHPOINT ULTRA is equivalent to a Planet Bike Superflash Taillight.
Regardless, I have found that vehicles provide a wide berth both when passing and oncoming. The MiNewt.400 Dual lights provide more than enough light on low beam. It has allow me to extend my weekday riding season on the Silvio.
