RojoRacing Minimalist Dual Water Bottle/Super Flash Mount

This project has been a long time coming but it took me spending the night as the shop 2 days in a row to find the time to focus. I actually got off work at noon today and I'm still in here moving onto the next Vendetta project.

What we have here is a newer style dual water bottle mount that attaches directly to at hard shell seat. I also machined a slot to accept a Planet Bike light mount for a clean and very solid placement, no more rattling or sagging tail light. The material used is black delrin plastic and I machined away as much excess material as I could to reduce weight. I maintained 0.100" wall thickness around all threaded holes and surfaces so it's really just a thin skeleton of a piece but is still so stiff I can't flex it at all. The more I work with the delrin the more amazing I find it is. I've stopped heli-coiling the threads because you can get some serious torque on these little M5x0.8 bolts in just the bare delrin. If your sharp you catch a few of my whoopsies during the machining which is why machinists have the saying measure twice cut once:rolleyes:. If I make another one I'd like to machine out the corners of the recesses with a ball mill to soften the corner and eliminate fatigue points.

On a slightly related note I direct mounted the quick release for my Topeak saddle bag to the bottom of the headrest plate so now it's tucked away and out of the wind. I still need more storage for clothing and such during normal every day 100 mile rides but this setup is for racing with support and shorter fair weather rides.

I wouldn't mind checking out their tail light but don't expect me to spend $300 on a tail light setup. I have dual Mj-818's wired to a single dual cell battery for when I want to completely bind people behind me and at only 1/3 the cost. I'm pretty sure the 85lm output rating is totally wrong because they are blinding during the day so I can't use them around other riders and when used on my morning commute cars think I'm a puller over emergency vehicle and ether moving completely into the other lane or come to a near stop behind me before they realize I'm just a bike.

I use the planet bike light for general rides because it is pretty bright of a one piece unit and for 24hr races it can be swapped in seconds if needed, and they are cheap as hell when on sale.

Ratz is looking at the arrangement for his use, as I am sure that this is lighter than the Aluminium arrangement that he is using currently.

As he lives so far North, he needs the bright WIDE view tail light to keep the Polar bears away from him!!!

Is there another place you can move the air pump to, to get it out of the air flow on the rear wheel strut?
