Will the S30's BB frame not accept 30mm spindle setups?

The S30's chainstay clamps (the part that clamps around the external BB cartridges) will only with with 24 mm spindle setups, right? It seems that a 30 mm spindle would require external bearings too wide to fit in the S30's chainstay clamps. So we're stuck using 24 mm setups then, yea?

Yes, the 30mm spindle cranks have much larger BB shells and they do not fit inside the ring clamps.

and I actually tested the most exotic and thin BB30 External I could find; it was really close but in the end no go. 24mm is the way you have to go.
