Yes. When I built up my S30, I started out with the SRAM Rival rim brakes I'd had on the Silvio 1.5 it replaced. Went to HY/RD disc brakes (160 mm front, 140 rear) in early 2020.

I'm running 28mm Conti 5000s on Velocity 700c wheels.
