S30 - Shimano 105 11 speed will not fit Derailleur hanger

A Shimano 105 11 speed rear derailleur will not fit the supplied S30 derailleur hanger without modification. Surprising because Shimano is so popular, or has the Silvio been designed exclusively for Sram components? Twenty minutes with a file to take off a significant amount of hanger material got it to work, but really?

Strange. I have a Silvio S30 (front suspension model) and fitted it with a Shimano Ultegra medium cage (11 speed) rear derailleur without the need for modification. Has there been a change of design with the latest S30?

That's odd and the first it's been reported.

We have a lot of people on the forum riding, Ultegra gear including Di2. But we don't get a lot of people reporting on the lower end Shimano 105 stuff.

For Clarity it's a new Derailleur and definitely not bent correct?

Anyone else running 105?

The Shimano 105 was purchased about 6 months ago and worked fine on my Bacchetta CA700. It is not bent. You can see in the attached photograph that the distance between the threaded mounting hole and where the "B screw adjustment" needs to rotate, is bigger on the S30 hanger: 3.77mm for the Bachetta and 4.93mm for the S30.Derailleur hanger Bacchetta vs Silvio.jpg

try placing the Silvio hanger over the top of the bacchetta hanger so that the angle from the quick release to the b attachment is the same, and take another photo.
